Matt Whipp
Manager Cabin SafetyMatt has been in the aviation industry for over 25 years. Starting his career at Virgin Atlantic as Cabin Crew and a Senior Cabin Crew Member, Matt then joined the training team at Virgin as a Safety, CRM and Security Trainer before becoming the Training Manager for around 14 years. Matt now holds the position of ‘Manager - Cabin Safety’ for British Airways and has done so since 2017, responsible for all aspects of safety for the cabin crew community. Matt is also a member of the IATA Cabin Safety Task Force which creates procedures and policies for the wider industry to consider and adopt. He has spoken at the IATA conferences on a variety of subjects. Matt has also spoken at 2 Airport Fire Officers Association Conferences on managing an evacuation and the importance of collaboration between Airlines and Emergency services. Still licensed as a Cabin Crew member Matt remains qualified to operate the A32x family, Airbus A350 and Boeing 777/787 aircraft.
