Comment from ITM CEO | 2021 a sense of optimism
How do we begin to assess a year like 2020 ?
Let’s just say it was full of surprises, many of which were not positive…. Travel has been amongst the hardest hit industries and it greatly saddens me to see so many talented and hardworking industry colleagues displaced.
But we continue to look for the positives. With the second lockdown lifting and daily news about vaccine breakthroughs, we have glimmers of hope that the threat posed by COVID-19 will, in the near future, be overcome.
With that in mind, ITM 2021’s Conference theme has never been more fitting: Revive. Planned as a virtual two day event on 27-28 April, the 2021 virtual Conference will be designed to help you revive your travel programme, business and career. We will be releasing further details in the coming weeks, but this will be the perfect environment to come together, immerse yourself in rich content and seize opportunities.
ITM is also planning in-person events next year, something the team and I are counting the days until. By having the option of both virtual and face to face events, our members can choose what’s right for them at any given time. It also means that ITM can minimise risk and continue to support members in the best way possible, in a time when they undoubtedly need it most.
While we continue to learn, adapt, evolve (and some days just re-evaluate life), I feel a sense of optimism for the year ahead. I believe that together we can learn to successfully navigate our new landscape, and breathe life back into our industry.
We look forward to seeing you in person next year!
