GBTA Keeping Travellers Safe through Travel Risk Management

GBTA Keeping Travellers Safe through Travel Risk Management

When faced with an emergency, companies may need to locate and communicate with their travelers in a timely manner. When doing so, they commonly rely on a number of methods and data sources. While many travel programs excel in these areas, a good number demonstrate a need to improve.

This whitepaper presents results from a survey of Travel Managers, Security Officers, HR personnel, and other personnel in North America conducted by the GBTA Foundation in partnership with Concur, and focuses on two main areas: (1) adoption and composition of Travel Risk Management (TRM) protocols domestically and internationally and (2) traveler tracking and communication. The latter area focuses partly on tracking and communication when bookings are made outside of an organization’s online booking tool (OBT) or TMC.

This report will help you to:

- Learn about what activities and processes Travel Managers are sometimes involved in when Travel Risk Management (TRM) falls under their responsibilities.
- Identify what kind of features are included in both domestic and international TRM protocols.
- Learn how organizations track and communicate with their travelers and understand the challenges posed to TRM programs when travelers book outside the authorized systems.
